Easy and cheap DIY face masks with ingredients you'll likely already have!

Beauty salons....I really do love visiting them. But a) who has the time and b) who can afford them?! If you are looking for beauty salon results without the price tag and having to step foot outside your front door, then look no further. The best part about a DIY face mask is you can pop it on while you're doing the dishes. Talk about multi tasking! Below is two tried and tested face mask recipes that I love doing in between my salon visits!
For skin tightening
You will need:
- 1 tbsp instant coffee (preferably organic)
- 1 tbsp honey (preferably raw and organic, but regular is also fine)
Mix the coffee and honey together to form a paste. Apply to your entire face and leave on for 20 minutes. Before you wash it off with cold water, massage the coffee mixture into your skin for 2-3 minutes. This is a beautiful way to exfoliate your skin.
Benefits:
Coffee is an excellent exfoliator and helps in stimulating blood flow, which reduces acne and even cellulite and stretch marks. Additional benefits are that its rich antioxidants kill dead cells and remove impurities, making skin smoother and brighter looking. Honey deeply moisturisers your skin as well as reversing ageing and it gives you a natural glow.
For healing and inflammation of the skin
You will need:
- 1 tbsp instant coffee (preferably organic)
- 1 tbsp virgin coconut oil (preferably organic)
Mix the coffee and coconut oil together to form a paste.
Virgin coconut oil can penetrate the epidermis (skin’s top layer) and help improve the skin barrier. It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing effects. Research suggests it also prevents skin aging.
I would love to know if you try these DIY face masks. Please make sure you are not allergic to any of these ingredients before you put them on your skin!
